Who we are:
Koubou interiors is a multi-disciplinary Interior Architecture and Design company.
We produce award winning designs for our Healthcare, Commercial and Private Clients.

Gilly trained at the Regent Academy in London where she graduated with a Distinction. Gilly founded Koubou Interiors in 2004 previously having tutored at her local college in Interior Design.
Gilly understands the importance of getting to know her clients and taking the time to understand their brief, this enables her to focus on each design individually, ensuring that a client’s likes and dislikes, along with the functionality of the space are fully taken into account.
By working closely with her team of highly skilled and qualified designers Gilly is able to manage every aspect of the design process, taking a project through from the initial design concept to completion.
Gilly is the CPD Director for the BIID, chairing the CPD committee and working with other members of Council to ensure BIID Registered Interior Designers are fully informed and qualified.
Josie is our newest member of staff. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (with honours), majoring in Interior Design, from the Art Institute of Houston. After graduating she worked on hospital and commercial projects for HOK in Houston, where she became a LEED Accredited Professional with the US Green Building Council. She returned to the UK and set up her own business concentrating on residential work.
Her specific areas of interest are Healthcare (particularly Design in Dementia), Commercial, Hospitality and Green Building.
Julia has a Ba (hons)interior architecture and design, with 5 years experience. She likes to combine her knowledge with scientific data and create functional spaces that work around the client. She is a big fan of creating workplace strategies and likes to add a bit of quirkiness to interiors.When she is not on her bike or out in the nature, she loves making colourful 3d visuals. She is assisting Koubou interiors on their interior design projects creating drawings, planning and Dealing with customers. She also has experience in project management, procurement, manufacture liaison and fit out.
Julia is currently working with Koubou Interiors part time, sharing her own knowledge and expertise with the team and on our projects.
With a background that includes advertising, office administration and customer liaison. Her history includes the multicultural life of South Africa.
Sam has to multitask. Apart from her role with the administration she supports the Design team with research, sourcing and procurement.
Hannah provides our social media and marketing support within the business, helping us share our voice with new and current customers on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, as well as finding new exciting ways to connect with our clientele and share our brand with potential new customers.
We Plan & Consult
Feasibility studies including initial site appraisals and development of the Design brief.
Measured site surveys and full spatial planning.
Liaison with local authority planning departments.
Construction co-ordination with other consultants and specialists.
Advise on the Client’s duties under the CDM Regulations.
We also offer consultations to clients who want a helping hand in their renovation project, with items such as colour, space, storage and other factors in the design process. These consultations are perfect for clients who wish to handle the project themselves, but need a little support in terms of the design stage.

Design and Decorate
Interior Architecture and Design; refurbishment and extension of existing buildings and new builds.

Why we are proud members of the BIID:
Gilly is a proud member of the British Institute for Interior Designers, and is currently on the Council of Directors as the CPD Director, this means she oversees the Institute’s CPD programme of seminars, lectures and tours in addition to the expansion of its CPD Providers Directory.
